My Understanding of Library 2.0: Web 2.0 is a variety of sites, applications that allow users to interact, collaborate and share information online. It's also called social media. Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogs, wikis, video sharing sites to name a few. Today libraries are increasingly using web 2.0 applications, sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, RSS(web feed format) & Google (google+) a social networking service from Google to engage it's patrons and to encourage participation. Through these the patrons/ clients are able to rate or review the books on the library catalogue.Using these libraries can inform it's patrons/clients the availability of new titles, events that are being held at the library etc. Some of the most commonly used applications by libraries include: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube.
