The Ultimo Library Blog:
I enjoyed all 3 blogs but liked the Ultimo Library Blog in
particular. It has a number of interesting features such as latest news about what’s'
on at the Library, news, tags and other useful links. The blog certainly
promotes awareness of their programs and services.
Further it's in a very organized manner. The information is precise and
useful. They have used maximum legibility by the use of clear fonts, few
colors, simple background and clear bold subject headings. It sets people up
for cognitive ease. Thus it encourages people to read their blog more.
Further the blog has general information such as open hours, library
map. What’s also interesting is through this blog their students/ patrons can
also renew their library items which I thought was very convenient to
its patrons. Also the people who visit their blog could use the Archives
section within the blog to go back as far as December 2012 to check previous information.
Further the 'Tags' section helps the visitors of the Ultimo Library blog to
go directly to the section they want by selecting the subjects they
are most interested in e.g. Fashion, cooking etc.
It’s certainly clear that they are trying to serve avid readers better
by providing targeted news and information.
